Welcome to the cutting edge of youth robotics. In Week 3, static code comes alive through mechanical motion! Campers will unbox and assemble the sophisticated WPI-XRP Robotics Platform, featuring a Raspberry Pi Pico controller, dual DC motors, and a robust 3D-printed chassis.

Using MicroPython, students will code drive vectors, program precise geometric turns, and interface an active ultrasonic sensor to give their robot "spatial awareness." The week wraps up with an autonomous maze-escape challenge where students rely entirely on their custom obstacle-avoidance code to navigate to safety. The entire robot kit and rechargeable battery system go home with the student!
