Turn an idea on the screen into something you can actually hold!

In our hands-on 3D Design & Printing classes, students learn how to create their own digital designs and transform them into real objects using 3D printing.

Each 4-class adventure focuses on different design skills and challenges. Students will learn about 3D modeling, measurements, problem-solving, the design process and how 3D printers turn digital models into physical objects.

Students can choose the 3D Adventures that interest them most — no semester-long commitment required.

Wednesdays • 10:00–11:30 AM
Maximum 12 students

Equipment, 3D printers and standard project materials are included.

Tinkercad Foundations

Aug. 5, 12, 19 & 26

Start designing in 3D! Students learn the fundamentals of Tinkercad, including shapes, alignment, grouping, measurements, holes and combining objects while creating their own 3D-printable projects.

Creative & Functional Design

Sept. 2, 9, 16 & 23

Design something that doesn't just look cool — make it useful! Students explore measurements, fit, function and creative problem-solving while designing personalized and functional objects to 3D print.

3D Engineering & Moving Parts

Oct. 7, 14, 21 & 28

Take 3D design to the next level! Students explore tolerances, clearances, hinges, moving components and how separate parts work together while creating more advanced 3D-printable designs.

3D Design Challenge

Nov. 4 & 18, Dec. 2 & 9

Think like a designer and engineer! Students are given creative design challenges and work through the process of brainstorming, modeling, printing, testing and improving their solutions. Projects may include personalized, functional and seasonal designs.
